21 Week update

Today we made it to 21 weeks, yay!

The biggest change this week is I am now feeling the baby everyday. I hadn't felt the baby kick since my doctor's appointment about a month ago, and than around Wednesday of this week I started feeling the baby move around. I haven't felt the kick feeling like I felt before, but I'm feeling movement which is hard to describe but is described by others as bubbles or butterflies. I can feel the baby swim around inside me, and it's crazy and incredible at the same time.

I usually feel the baby about 3 times a day mostly when I'm sitting on the couch or laying in bed. I haven't been able to feel anything on the outside yet, but I'm excited to share this experience with Sean as soon as the baby will allow it.

Sean and I also went and started a registry today. Talk about overwhelming! This baby needs a lot of stuff. I wanted Sean to come so he could be a part of deciding everything and also so he could see all of the stuff this baby needs.

I made the mistake of telling Sean he should probably pick out his own diaper bag, since I'm hoping to probably hire my sister to make one for me. She's awesome like that, and has her own Etsy Store, Basil Boutique. Sean looked at me like I had 3 heads and with a scared look on his face and said "I don't need one.... you're not leaving me." I guess he can pick out his bag later for days when he WILL be left alone with the baby, or he can use whatever I end up using. Shopping was definitely an eye opener for both of us and I'm glad this was one thing we could do together.

On to the photos. Below are my 21 week belly shots. I look a little rough. I'm blaming it on the 90+ temps and 99% humidity. We'll be getting a big storm tonight, I can hear the thunder already.

I'm definitely growing, and let me just say my belly button is shrinking in depth but increasing in width. I am bound to have an outie and I know it will be here before I know it. I'm also getting that line that pregnant ladies get right below the belly button. I looked it up and one website said "During pregnancy, the hormone melanin, which tints the skin, is more active than normal. Melanin causes the linea nigra, a brown line that develops on the midline of the abdomen during pregnancy."

The girls continue to grow and I know I keep mentioning having to go bra shopping, but I seriously NEED to go ASAP. Probably this week. I did finally go to Motherhood Maternity because I am running out of tops to wear and bought three new tops. Thanks to Mom for the gift card. It was nice to get some new clothes and not have to worry about spending my own money. I saved some of the gift card so I can go back again too.

We have our anatomy ultrasound THIS Tuesday. We were supposed to have it last week, but it had to be rescheduled since the ultrasound tech had a death in her family and was gone all of last week. We've been told the baby will be cuter this week because it is one week older, not sure if this is true or not, but I can pretend to help me get me to Tuesday. I'm hoping this is true and I'm hoping we get some nice new photos of the baby to share.

I'll update once I have photos available and also what the doctor says about our growing baby.
