Instead of rambling on about every little thing that has happened I'll make a list of the things that have happened since I last posted, in no particular order.
-Kieran turned 8 months
-I started back at work full time
-Kieran started school
-Kieran caught a stomach virus and was projectile vomiting (caught this after two days in day care)
-Sean stayed home with Kieran for two days so I wouldn't have to take off work
-Sean got sick
-I got sick
-Entire family is back to being healthy but now Kieran won't sleep more than 2 hours at a time
-Kieran is now sitting really well, we still put a pillow behind him or a boppy in case he topples back but so far so good
-Kieran has discovered his feet, I think he discovered them before but couldn't reach, now that he is finally getting a little longer he can finally reach
-Kieran loves to tug on his pants or shorts and hike them up. When playing his hands are always on his pants and he loves them.
-We've now put the other side of Kieran's baby tub down so he sits and plays with his toys during bath and has so much fun.
-Kieran seems to be able to successfully nap without the swaddle. We've tried no swaddle at night and only gotten three hours max. Although this is also when he decided not to sleep like he used to, so either we messed up the good sleep we had, or he's just running us around in circles like he always does.
-When Kieran sees something he wants he not only reaches for it, he throws himself at it. The poor kid wants to crawl or be mobile so bad but he just doesn't have the gross motor skills.
-Kieran still isn't rolling from back to belly, although once in the crib he was basically on his stomach. He gets about 80% of the way to flip and than just hangs out there. While he was sleeping I think the side of the crib helped push him over. He still wasn't 100% on his belly though.
-Tummy time doesn't seem as big of a deal to Kieran anymore.
-At 8 months Kieran weighed about 16 lbs and was about 25".
-Kieran loves paper, we obviously don't let him chew on it but he definitely tries.
-He is good at anticipating something if we use repetition. We like to count 1...2...3 and let him fall back on the bed. This makes him smile and laugh. Usually by the 3rd time he bends his knees and tries to fall back before we get to 3. Always lots of fun!
-We've been reading him stories out of his Children's bibles most nights before bath time. He seems to really enjoy story time, although he wants to grab the book and we are trying to keep this book of his in as good of shape as possible.
-We let Kieran gnaw on a bagel for the first time. He was very interested but really didn't eat any of it. A few pieces got saliva soaked enough to dissolve in his mouth but that was about it.
-Kieran tried applesauce and didn't seem very interested. We'll try again when he's feeling 100%.
and of course here are some pictures from the last few weeks.
Thanks for all the updates. The photos are always so fun to look at. He is 2/3 of a year old. Getting to be a big boy. Love you all.
