Date Night - A Chef's Kitchen

With mom in town Sean and I decided to take advantage to go on a date. Something we hadn't done in a really long time. This is only the second time Kieran has been left alone since he came home from the hospital, the first being when he was about 5 weeks old when we went to Dan and Janelle's wedding.

We have been wanting to go to A Chef's Kitchen for quite a long time. We had heard lots of good reviews of this place and besides the good food it was a place to learn a little and have fun.

According to the website:
John and Wanda Gonzales have a long-held dream to create a destination where people go to eat fine, inspired food, learn about food and food preparation and be entertained. A Chef’s Kitchen is the culmination of that dream.

Each month they have one 5 course menu with champagne and wine pairings.

We are going to definitely try and go again sooner than later.

Usually I'm a pretty picky eater, even though I'm better than I used to be. I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed EVERYTHING on the menu and didn't leave one bit of food on the plate.

For those that want to be jealous, our meal in photos:

Mussel-Saffron Bisque with Parsley & Tomato Coulis
Celeriac & Arugula Salad with Caper Remoulad paired withA Chef’s Kitchen’s Skillet Baked Corn Bread
Seared Sea Scallops with Crispy Butternut Squash Pancake & Leek Purée
Bacon-Wrapped Berkshire Pork Tenderloin with Roasted Potato Gaufrette, Madeira Fig Purée & Roasted Chestnuts

Orange Crème Tart with Chocolate Ganache &
Bali Vanilla Ice Cream

I'll I can say is YUM YUM YUM. How great it would be to have someone cook for me like this every night. Then I would definitely never lose the last few pounds of this baby weight.

Can't wait for next month's menu, this may be our new "go to" restaurant when we have visitors in town.

  1. You would have thought as the "babysitter" they would have brought me a doggie bag of goodies to taste. No such luck! But I did get to hear how delicious it all was! Glad you got to get out of the house and that I was the lucky one to take care of Kieran; even if he did sleep most of the night. Love you guys.
