39 Weeks

I'm not only in single digits until d-day but less then a week away.  This is insane.  Baby "Purple" (as Kieran likes to call him/her) can come at any moment.  My patience is running thin, I'm just way too excited.  It still doesn't seem real.

This week I've continued to feel well although I've had some cramping and some upper back pain.  No definite contractions, but still a ton of braxton hick contractions. 

I had my doctor appointment on Friday and was pleased to hear that I've made some progress.  Of course it doesn't mean anything except less "work" for my body to do when I am actually in labor, although it does mean my body is starting to prepare.  I am 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced.  Considering I've been 1 cm the last 3 weeks this makes me happy.  Now if I could just get to 7-8 and 100% effaced and get this party going I would be really happy.

I guess it's good that I am feeling good, but I'm just ready to meet this baby and find out what he/she looks like and more specifically if this baby is a he or a she.  Soon enough, I guess.
