24 Weeks

This week I feel like I have been having less back pain but still a ton of pelvic pain. My poor husband gets to hear me groan and moan every time I get out of bed or off the couch.  I had a couple of really bad back pain days, but I feel like it is better then last week.

On Friday I went to my 24 week appointment and had my cervix checked.  Cervix is still nice and long at 5 cm.  My appointment was with my favorite doctor in the practice, Dr. Jenkins.  He delivered Kieran and he's seriously so awesome.  He's the one that made the decision early on that I should have my cervix checked at every appointment.  At this past appointment he told me it is just important to treat my mind as it is to treat my body. He said obviously I am going to worry a ton this pregnancy since I had a preemie last time, so anyway he can ease my mind he's willing to help and willing to be extra cautious.  I told him about my aches and pains and he said those are normal in a second pregnancy.  He also cautioned me that I would most likely have braxton hicks starting around 28-30 weeks and that it would probably make me worry again.  He told me anytime I worry I can always call and come in if needed.  Better to get checked out then be worried.  Did I say this doctor is awesome?  Oh and he told me I looked great for 24 weeks (more bonus points), and he measured my fundal length and it was actually 26 cm, so I'm measuring a little big, but you can't tell because my uterus is so high.  I don't think there is any room for it to go higher, it is at my ribs already, so I think now I will start growing out and showing a lot more.

The heart rate ranged between 148-151 and the baby is head down, yay!!!  I got my "yummy" orange drink for my glucose test at my 28 week appointment.  Also at my 28 week appointment they will start checking my cervix internally, so I guess no more ultrasounds.  I guess that's ok, since I didn't even get to see the baby at this last ultrasound, just the tip of his/her head, so it isn't as fun as seeing the baby anyway.  I am however, if you remember, getting my fun ultrasound next Saturday, so I am excited for fun pictures then!!!

Baby is kicking and moving a ton this week.  This weekend the movement has been a little less, but still movement throughout the day to give me the reassurance I need.

I can't remember which day but Sean got to feel the baby kick a few days ago.  Pretty neat to be able to share this with him.  Last time was around 25-26 weeks.

Oh and here are my belly pictures of the week.
