This past week has been busy and eventful. My mom flew in last Wednesday to meet her first grandchild. She had been waiting almost a month to meet Kieran, and was more than thrilled to finally be in Virginia and to finally get a chance to hold and snuggle with him.

Thursday morning I took Kieran to the breastfeeding support group at the local hospital. The group meets three times a week and all moms bring their babies, weigh them, breast feed and then weigh their baby again. That way you can see how much your baby is eating. They also have a lactation consultant or nurse there to ask questions and help with any issues you may be having. I was pleased to see that Kieran had gained 3 ounces since Monday and now weighed in at 5 lbs 13 oz, almost 6 lbs, big boy! After the class we drove to pick up our new family car, a 2011 Subaru Outback. We bought it about an hour away so it was basically a day trip with an infant. The new car drives so nice and it's great to have the extra storage in the back for all of Kieran's stuff. We decided to go out to dinner and chose Olive Garden, which is always a good choice. Kieran also enjoyed Olive Garden and showed this to us by being "extra" alert and more awake than he's ever been.

Saturday morning Sean ran in a local 10K, and since I'm not back to running I decided to volunteer at the race. Mom was there to watch Kieran and I always appreciate the volunteers and like to give back, so I figured why not. The problem with volunteering is that you have to stay until the last finishers cross the line, and let's just say there are some really slow walkers that took well over 2 hours to do the 6.2 miles. Luckily the weather was PERFECT, maybe even a little too warm. Kieran enjoyed meeting his fellow CRR members and got a lot of comments on how tiny and cute he is.
After the race Sean went and played golf while Mom, Kieran and I hung outside and enjoyed the nice weather!
Tiny ToesSunday is football day, and let's just say the Giants have been playing much better since Kieran has come home from the hospital. The game wasn't on at our house so we decided to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the game. Sean and Kieran dressed up in their Giants gear and it definitely helped the Giants with another win.
Monday we went back to the breastfeeding group and Kieran hit 6 lbs. 6 lbs 0.4 oz to be exact. So proud of my big boy!! The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, just grocery shopping and back to the house to relax.
He looks so little in his swing, but so comfy tooTuesday we finally made it to Colonial Williamsburg, and to the Peanut Shop for our free samples! We walked around for an hour or so. It was hot though, high of 89 I believe, and we all got a little too hot and had to sit down and relax for a bit. I had my first experience changing him in public and him peeing all over himself (better him than me right). I had a change of clothes for him, so no big deal, just glad my huge diaper bag full of "goodies" is getting fully used.
After CW we came back to the house and Jami was stopping by to drop off some stuff she borrowed. She wanted a little cuddle time with Kieran and ended up visiting for 3+ hours. He was very well behaved and snuggled up tight and even let her feed him a bottle.

Kieran loves his cuddle time with Jami
Overall things have been going well at home. We have since stopped turning the TV on for noise, but have continued to leave the bathroom light on. The bathroom light is now more helpful to me. It helps me have a little bit of light while trying to feed him in the middle of the night, and it really isn't very bright so I think we'll keep this for the time that he's in our room while I'm feeding him in bed.
Kieran has been sleeping fairly well. We're finding that as long as he has a full belly he'll sleep through to his next feeding. He's also eating a lot more. Still struggling with eating enough with breastfeeding but takes the bottle like a champ.
He's definitely enjoying his time with his Grammy and is excited for all of the upcoming visitors. Sean's parents will be here this weekend, my Dad in 3 weeks and my sisters in about a month. Kieran is going to go into family withdrawal come December.

Remember... you can come home to VT with Amie for Christmas when the withdrawl kicks in!! :)
