20 weeks

This week I'm feeling a lot more movement which is probably the coolest feeling and my favorite part of being pregnant.

On Friday I had my anatomy ultrasound.  This is an in depth ultrasound where they look at all the organs, the spine and take measurements to make sure there aren't any concerns.  According to the tech and my doctor everything looks great.

The baby is measuring in at about 10 oz, and has a heart rate of 150.  I asked the tech to check the length of my cervix.  It wasn't in my notes to check the length because I had a different doctor and she hadn't asked for it.  Luckily the tech didn't mind checking.  I was pleased to see that my cervix had actually gotten longer and it was 5 cm!  When I met with the doctor I asked about having it checked at my next appointment in 4 weeks and her response was "well your cervix looks good now and I don't like to do a lot of ultrasounds."  I'm really getting annoyed by this doctor.  She is new to the practice, young (probably not much older then me) and she doesn't seem to have a lot of the same advice as the other doctors.  I'm going to call the office and make sure my next appointment isn't with her and also ask to see what my other doctor recommends.  Dr. Jenkins, who delivered Kieran, recommended they check my cervix at each appointment so we can keep an eye and make sure it doesn't shorten all of a sudden without us noticing.  I would think if it was going to start to shorten it would be between 20-30 weeks, at least I believe that's probably when it happened last time.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from my appointment.

and of course here are my weekly belly shots.
