Kieran drank 9 ounces before bed tonight. 9! Normally he drinks 5 or maybe 6. I've been giving him a bottle instead of breastfeeding for the past month before bed so I know exactly how much he drinks. Tonight I had a 6 ounce bottle ready for him. After drinking his bottle, having his bath and going to bed he normally goes right to sleep. Tonight he was fussing and couldn't settle himself.
I was in the midst of pumping, since I normally pump right when he goes to bed. I had pumped just over 3 ounces and decided why not just see if he wants a little more. I was only going to put an ounce in a bottle and give it to him, but it was just as easy to dump the whole 3 ounces in the bottle.
I gave him the bottle, and he literally drank all 3 ounces without taking a breath. That boy was hungry! He better not expect 9 ounces every night, I can't keep up with that.
